Happy Client Testimonial

A lot of the energy I put into “marketing” is spent trying to explain what Health Coaching is and how it works. I recently received this testimonial from a client who finished her six month program and her experience explains it better than I ever could. Without further ado…

I first contacted Jessie feeling a bit desperate… after many months of trying on my own, I was struggling with finding motivation and accessible knowledge on how to meet my health goals. I always thought that losing weight and getting fit was something I should be able to do on my own, and when it wasn’t happening, I started feeling really poorly about myself on top of my poor body image at the time. Within 8 minutes of my first call with Jessie EVERYTHING began to reframe.

My time working with Jessie was completely different than what I thought I wanted, but it was exactly what I needed. Our biweekly sessions were health care, therapy, treat-yo-self time and more. Not only did I learn a ton about nutrition and movement, but I learned to be patient with myself in order to see real, sustainable change. We debunked food + diet culture myths I didn’t know I absorbed. We discovered generational food guilt I didn’t know I held onto. We laughed, cried, celebrated, groaned, and learned.

This approach made a huge difference for me. About 3 months into our time together I started shedding weight and picking up muscle… the micro efforts I was making all along were having a major impact. Now at the end of our 6 months, not only do I feel amazing with my “outside” and excited to continue to work on my fitness, but I feel more like myself on the “inside” than I have in years. And honestly, that makes me feel way hotter than physical appearance alone ever could.

Jessie’s coaching style is:

Friendly but firm – You will be held accountable, but you won’t be afraid to share when you may have missed the mark or not finished your homework that week.

Educational – when talking about food, nutrition comes first with Jessie. There are no “good” or “bad” foods, there is no guilt or shame around eating. Learning about nutritional components and chemical and emotional correlations between ingredients and whole-food items made me feel like an empowered eater.

Supportive – she allows for real life to “get in the way” and offers perspective just when you need it most. She actively listens and cares about what you’re experiencing and acknowledges how it comes into play in your health journey.

Fun – She LOVES what she does, and that joy reflects in her coaching style. It is infectious, and helps you dig in for the hard stuff.

Jessie’s biggest advice to me at the start of my journey with Jessie Rose Strength, and now my biggest advice to you is: Be patient with yourself and be patient with the process. It will be worth it.

And truly, it is.

Ps. she’ll NEVER tell you to give up chocolate… I should have mentioned that at the start ;)

I don’t know if I have ever felt prouder. Kelsey dug in and worked really hard and got everything from our time together that I hoped she would. So much of our relationship with our bodies is about how we look and how we think we are supposed to look. When that shifts towards how we feel, well, that’s where the magic happens. If you’re ready to feel good in your body, change your relationship with food, feel more confident in your eating habits and lifestyle choices, or just curious about what else Health Coaching entails…let’s chat! It really is so much fun and I would LOVE to help you.

Cheers,

Jessie
